Laparoscopic Adrenal Tumor Resection is a surgical technique that involves the removal of tumors from the adrenal gland through small incisions. The adrenal gland, located above each kidney, is responsible for producing hormones that regulate various bodily functions, including metabolism, immune response, and blood pressure.

The treatment approach for adrenal tumors varies depending on the type and location of the tumor. In most cases, surgery is the primary treatment option for adrenal cancer, with the objective being to remove the entire tumor. This involves removing the entire affected adrenal gland through a procedure known as adrenalectomy. If the cancer has spread to nearby organs such as the liver or kidney, these may also be partially or completely removed during the surgery.

Laparoscopic surgery is considered a safe and effective method for removing adrenal tumors that are smaller than 6 cm in size. For larger tumors, open surgery is typically the preferred approach.

The use of an ultrasonic scalpel during laparoscopic adrenal tumor resection has been shown to offer several benefits. Studies have found that using an ultrasonic scalpel can significantly reduce both operation time and intraoperative blood loss.
